The nation’s Governors believe the distance between promise and performance is measured in results achieved by our children. As laboratories of democracy, states are infusing the nation’s education system with sweeping reforms that will improve student performance and prepare young people to succeed in a competitive global economy.
Governors know that the future strength of our nation depends on our success in education reform. During my chairmanship, the National Governors’ Association (NGA) is focusing, through the Smarter Kids Task Force, on three major things we all must do to support student achievement.
