WASHINGTON—The National Governors Association (NGA) today announced the new leadership of NGA’s four standing committees for the 2012-2013 year. NGA Chair Delaware Gov. Jack Markell and NGA Vice Chair Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin made the following appointments:
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett is the new chair of the Economic Development and Commerce Committee, and Kentucky Gov. Steven Beshear will serve as the committee’s vice chair.
Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy will chair the Education and Workforce Committee, and Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad will serve as vice chair.
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will lead the Health and Homeland Security Committee, while Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval will serve the committee as vice chair.
South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard will chair the Natural Resources Committee, with California Gov. Jerry Brown serving as vice chair.
