On June 12, 2009, the Digital Television (DTV) transition took place. All full-power broadcast television stations in the United States stopped broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting in digital. Consumers who received free, over-the-air broadcasting on analog sets will had three options for continuing their television service.
