NGA Center's Prisoner Reentry Policy Academy was made possible with funding from the JEHT Foundation. The project enabled the NGA Center to work with teams from five states with the goal of developing executive leadership and state policies around prisoner reentry.

The NGA Center selected seven states—Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Oregon and West Virginia—to participate in a policy academy entitled State Strategies for Promoting Innovative Clusters and Regional Economies.

With support from the Atlantic Philanthropies, the NGA Center invited policy teams from eight states to participate in a Policy Academy on state strategies to increase civic engagement among seniors: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Maine, New Mexico, Ohio and Wyoming.

The NGA Center held the 2006 Governors' Energy Forum to present participants with information to help governors develop a comprehensive energy strategy that provides both short- and long-term benefits. During the meeting eight panels considered some of the most salient energy issues faced by states today including: the future of fossil energy, electric siting and transmission, alternative transportation fuels, renewable energy development and energy efficiency.
