NGA Center for Best Practices hosted a webinar on December 6, 2011, on Understanding How Data Capacity Relates to Teacher and Leader Effectiveness Efforts.

PRESENTATIONS:

  • Paige Kowalski, director of state policy initiatives at the Data Quality Campaign, discussed the key issues and challenges involved in linking teacher and principal evaluations to student data.
     
  • Hilary Darilek, deputy chief of principal effectiveness for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), discussed the DCPS model for principal evaluation, and some of the early lessons learned and challenges they face as they enter their second year of implementation.
