The NGA Center and the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) hosted a Web conference about340B Drug Purchasing Options for states. The federal 340B Drug Pricing Program allows federally qualified entities to purchase pharmaceuticals below the Medicaid rebate price. States can benefit from the 340B program when Medicaid clients or other state programs purchase pharmaceuticals through participating federally qualified community health centers (FQHCs). Further, many states and communities have used 340B to expand access to prescription drugs and improve patient safety.
