2003-04 NGA Chair Gov. Dirk Kempthorne's Initiative

2003-04 NGA Chair Idaho Gov. Dirk Kempthorne focused his "Chair's Initiative" on long-term care issues. As every American is potentially impacted by the challenges of aging - such as caring for elderly parents, dealing with chronic illnesses, or struggling with diminished financial resources - the initiative, "A Lifetime of Health and Dignity - Confronting Long-Term Care Challenges in America," sought to make NGA the preeminent source and clearinghouse for best practices in long-term care.
