ROBERT FRANK LIST was born in Visalia, California, in 1936. He receveived his bachelor's degree from Utah State University and a law degree from Hastings School of Law, University of California. He served as the district attorney of Carson City, Nevada, from 1967 to 1971. In 1970, List was elected attorney general of Nevada. He was reelected in 1974. While serving as the attorney general, he chaired the Western Confererence of Attorneys General and was a member of the Executive Committee of the National Association of Attorneys General. List was elected governor in 1978. During his term as governor, List chaired the Western Governors Conference and signed a major tax reform bill reducing property tax and increasing the sales tax. List is CEO of the Robert List Company in Las Vegas.
