Overview Governors are providing leadership on housing and community development through a variety of innovative initiatives to support vibrant communities. Though housing is sometimes thought to be primarily a local or federal issue, policies that provide quality, affordable housing have substantial impact on key state priorities, including economic competitiveness, workforce recruitment and retention, transportation, and environmental quality. Governors and their advisors possess unique perspectives that cut across broad constituencies and allow them to evaluate needs and devise comprehensive strategies. |
