NGA sent a letter to Congressional Leaders urging Congress to significantly increase funding for school nutrition programs contained in child nutrition legislation in order to reduce child hunger and improve the health and nutrition of children across the nation.

NGA Education, Early childhood and Workforce Committee Chair Gov. Ritter testified during the Improving Our Competitiveness: Common Core Education Standards hearing before the United States House Education and Labor Committee.

With most states unlikely to meet new driver's license requirements imposed under the REAL ID Act by year's end, the nation's governors urged Congress to pass the Providing for Additional Security in States' Identification Act (PASS ID) this year to avoid travel disruptions and ensure more secure and less costly standards for driver's licenses than REAL ID.
