Incoming NGA Chair Unveils New Initiative
Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas officially became chair of the National Governors Association (NGA) during the closing plenary session of the NGA's Annual Meeting. West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin was named NGA Vice Chair.

NGA Chooses New Executive, Standing Committee Leaders
NGA announced its new Executive Committee members and the leadership of NGA's four standing committees for the 2009-2010 year.

With a panoramic view of Mississippi's Gulf Coast as a backdrop, NGA Vice Chair Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas, West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin and host Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour welcomed the nation's governors to the association's 101st Annual Meeting.

Infrastructure Highlighted During Opening Plenary of NGA Annual Meeting
The 2009 National Governors Association Annual Meeting began with an opening plenary session dedicated to infrastructure. The session coincides with NGA Chair Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell's yearlong initiative Strengthening Our Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future.
