NGA Welcomes New Chair
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty officially turned over the reins of NGA to Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell during the closing plenary session of the NGA's Centennial Meeting. Gov. Rendell's Chair's Initiative will work with other states to design and implement strategies for smarter, more cost-effective infrastructure investments, including roads, bridges, ports and public transportation.

Securing a Clean Energy Future Tops Agenda as Governors Meet in Philadelphia
Following a daylong celebration to commemorate NGA's Centennial Anniversary, NGA Chair Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty joined host and Vice Chair Pennsylvania Gov. Edward Rendell in kicking off the business portion of the association's annual meeting.

Governors to Convene Centennial Meeting in Philadelphia
In 1908, President Theodore Roosevelt convened the first-ever meeting of the nation's governors at the White House. In 2008, NGA will continue its tradition of annual meetings when it convenes in Philadelphia for its Centennial Meeting, held July 11–14.
