About the Homeland Security & Technology Division
The NGA Center for Best Practices' Homeland Security & Technology (HST) Division informs states of best practices in homeland security policy and implementation including bioterrorism, critical infrastructure protection, energy assurance, information sharing, intelligence and emergency management, and government use of information technology.
States have made significant progress toward achieving interoperable communications, but more work is needed before information can be freely exchanged among jurisdictions during an emergency, according to a new Issue Brief by the NGA Center.
The NGA Center selected three states – Alabama, Hawaii and Illinois – to participate in a policy academy that will assist states in developing a privacy policy for their justice information sharing programs.
