Presentation of Financing, Accountability and Oversight Models to Sustain Electronic Health Information Exchange: Initial Findings
The University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Health Policy and Research was commissioned by the State Alliance and NGA to examine financing, accountability, and oversight models to sustain electronic health information exchange. The researchers will present to the State Alliance members preliminary findings and obtain guidance from the members as to additional questions or areas for examination.

Update on AHIC 2.0 Activities
The American Health Information Community (AHIC) is a federal advisory body established in 2005 by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. AHIC makes recommendations to the HHS Secretary on ways to accelerate the development and adoption of health information technology. It is currently undergoing a transition as a public-private partnership based in the private sector by Fall of 2008. LMI, teaming with the Brookings Institution, received a contract from the Office of the National Coordinator for HIT to design and establish the AHIC successor (AHIC 2.0). Members will hear from LMI and ONC on the transition progress.

Health IT Now! is a coalition composed of private sector members who have come together to promote the rapid deployment of health information technology. Members will learn about the efforts of Health IT Now! to engage the private sector community and other stakeholders on ways to promote HIT.
