NGA Prisoner Reentry Policy Academy: State Action Plans and Other Documents

The following states are participating in NGA's Prisoner Reentry Policy Academy[i]. In addition to providing information on each state's current action plans and related information, these links provide access to a series of reports that highlight what prisoner reentry looks like in states, including maps and trend line data. These "snapshot" reports on reentry were commissioned by NGA as a component of the Prisoner Reentry Policy Academy  and were produced by the Urban Institute.[ii] The state action plans were completed by each state's reentry policy team.

Other States News

In addition to the NGA Prisoner Reentry Policy Academy, other states have also been active around the issue of prisoner reentry. The following links provide information to recent state initiatives.

[i] The NGA Prisoner Reentry Policy academy is supported by funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (OASPE), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Minority Health (OMH), and the JEHT Foundation.

[ii] Five of these reports were commissioned by NGA. The report for New Jersey was produced under a separate project by the Urban Institute although it is cited here. Rhode Island's mapping efforts were completed by The Providence Plan. However, NGA commissioned the Urban Institute to complete a needs and gap analysis of reentry for Rhode Island.
