Webcast: State Choices About TANF Programs Following DRA

September 24, 2007 | 2:30 – 3:30 pm EST

Please join us for a one-hour live webcast on Monday, September 24th at 2:30 PM EST, sponsored by the NGA Center in conjunction with the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA). NGA and APHSA will present the findings from a joint 50-state survey of state TANF Directors, conducted between May and June of this year, on changes in policy, work activity, service and fiscal aspects of states' TANF programs following the Deficit Reduction Act (DRA) and the subsequent development of new federal program regulations. We will complement these findings with NGA research conducted earlier this year that explores state strategies for improving employment outcomes among TANF and other low-income families. We will be accepting questions from viewers via e-mail both prior to and during the webcast and will answer as many of those questions as we can during the question-and-answer segment following the presentation.

Moderator:

  • Susan Golonka, Program Director, Human Services, NGA Center for Best Practices

Speakers:

  • Linda Lawson, Senior Policy Associate, Policy & Government Affairs, APHSA
  • Tiffany Boiman, Senior Policy Analyst, National Governors Association, Center for Best Practices
