Christian Lovell

Legislative Director

Christian Lovell serves as a Legislative Director overseeing federal advocacy on agricultural, rural, energy, environmental, and land use policies.

Prior to joining NGA, Lovell spent the last seven years working on federal agriculture policy in Washington, D.C. Most recently, he spent nearly five years on Capitol Hill, as Legislative Director to Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) during her time as Chair of the House Committee on Appropriations. Previously, he held consulting positions at Informa Economics Group and the World Bank.

Christian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University, as well as an associate of science degree in agricultural science from Lake Land College. Christian is a native of West Central Illinois, where he remains actively involved in his family’s farm and Registered Hereford cattle operation.
