International and Strategy Advisor
Abigail Hunter serves as the International and Strategy Advisor for NGA Global where she works to foster collaboration and partnerships between the states and international partners. She supported the launch of the NGA Global program in 2018 and has been managing the association’s international portfolio since 2017.
In this capacity, she works to provide governors with opportunities to build relationships abroad through conferences, trade missions and other initiatives. She joined NGA as a Summer Scholar in 2018 through the Peter G. Peterson Foundation’s fiscal internship program, where she attended weekly seminars at think tanks throughout Washington on fiscal policy issues, in addition to her work at NGA.
Previously, Hunter was a Peter G. Peterson Foundation fiscal policy scholar supporting NGA. She also worked with the city of Montreal on their Cop21 Climate Change citizen consultation while serving as lead outreach coordinator for the local Quebec startup, SOCENT.
She holds a double Bachelor of Commerce in International Management and Managing for Sustainability from the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University.
Hunter hails from Toronto, Canada, and is an avid runner.
