Senior Policy Analyst

Kalyn Hill serves as a senior policy analyst for the NGA Center for Best Practice’s Homeland Security & Public Safety Division. Kalyn provides support to Governors’ offices and state officials on laws, policies and practices related to criminal justice, juvenile justice, traffic safety and other public safety issues.
Prior to joining NGA in 2016, Kalyn worked as assistant counsel to the Speaker of the House for the Illinois General Assembly where she advised House members on legislation related to criminal law, corrections and juvenile justice. Kalyn also worked at The Justice Project, a nonprofit organization that was engaged in national and state-based policy to reform criminal justice systems. Kalyn received her Juris Doctor from DePaul University and B.A. from Spelman College.
Kalyn originally hails from Maryland.
