Kirk Williamson serves as a policy analyst for the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices Health Division. Williamson’s policy and subject matter expertise is in opioids and substance use disorders, pharmaceuticals, infectious diseases and Medicaid.
Prior to joining NGA, he served as a research assistant at the George Washington University, Milken Institute School of Public Health, and as a health policy intern for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee.
Williamson holds a master’s degree in public health with a concentration in health policy from the George Washington University, School of Public Health, and a bachelor’s degree in global health with a minor in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
