Director of Spouses’ Program

Marcia Lim serves as director of the governors’ spouses’ program in the NGA Office of Consulting Management and Training. She is responsible for directing the development and implementation of priorities and initiatives of the governors’ spouses’ program through the NGA Spouses’ Leadership Committee. Program initiatives and areas of focus have included early childhood learning, literacy, arts in education, mentoring and leadership, volunteerism, support for military families, employment for people with disabilities, alcohol and substance abuse prevention, sustainable healthy foods, and childhood nutrition and hunger prevention.
Previously, Lim worked for the National Center for State Courts, where she conducted judicial administration research for state court judges and administrators, and served as assistant to the executive director of the Montgomery County (Maryland) Commission for Women, a bipartisan advisory body to local and state government officials on public policy issues affecting women and families.
Lim holds a B.A. in sociology from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in public administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
