States are responsible for developing and implementing transportation strategies that encourage improved system performance, increased mobility, enhanced economic development and improved environmental outcomes. Achieving these complementary goals requires a combination of efforts at the state and national level.

The NGA Center supports governors and state policy leaders in their efforts to address challenges in governance, planning, funding and financing and performance measures.
