The National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) hosted a Lead-by-Example (LBE) workshop to help states better tap into the ample opportunities to reduce energy consumption and expenses in public buildings. This workshop brought together states and experts to explore new policies and solutions identified through the LBE retreats NGA held in 2017. Insights and key outcomes to date will be shared by the five state teams—Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Washington—that worked with NGA in 2017. Teams from twelve additional states shared their LBE questions and insights.
