The NGA Center for Best Practices’ Maternal and Child Health Update (MCH Update) has a longstanding history of collecting and sharing detailed state-level information on maternal and child health programs and outcomes. The update is published regularly based on the survey responses of senior state officials, including Title V directors, Medicaid directors and others charged with ensuring high-quality care for maternal and child health populations. The survey has provided information on key maternal and child health policy topics including Medicaid and CHIP coverage, infant mortality, and quality improvement initiatives over the course of its history.
