Andrew Kambour serves as program director for the National Governors Association (NGA) Center for Best Practice’s Environment, Energy & Transportation Division. Kambour provides governors’ staff with technical assistance on a range of topics in the energy, environment and transportation sectors including: electric grid modernization, energy assurance and cybersecurity, energy efficiency deployment, nuclear power and waste management, environmental regulation, transportation and infrastructure financing and alternative-fuel vehicles and infrastructure.

He manages NGA’s Federal Facilities Task Force, a group of governor-appointed representatives from 12 states with regulatory oversight of the cleanup of radioactive and hazardous waste at U.S. Department of Energy nuclear weapons production sites. He is also a member of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Air and Climate Public Advisory Committee.

Kambour holds a master’s degree in public policy with a concentration in environmental and regulatory policy from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Tufts University.
