Caroline Sevier serves as the Legislative Director of the Economic Development and Commerce Committee, where she is responsible for directing the development and implementation of governors’ strategic federal priorities. She covers a range of issues including transportation infrastructure, telecommunications, tax, international trade promotion, financial services regulation, manufacturing, science and technology development and affordable housing.
Before joining NGA in 2014, Sevier worked as a federal lobbyist for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). At ASCE, she focused on transportation and water resources infrastructure, leading the organization’s transportation policy committee and advocating on behalf of the nation’s civil engineers on Capitol Hill. During her five-year tenure at ASCE, she was instrumental in the development and launch of the 2013 Report Card for America’s Infrastructure.
Sevier holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Villanova University. She is a member of Women in Government Relations and the Washington Road Gang.
Caroline originally hails from New Jersey, but currently resides in Maryland.
