The NGA Center hosted a kick-off meeting for a learning lab on telehealth strategies for expanding access to opioid addiction treatment. Teams from three states traveled to the ECHO (Extension for Community Health Outcomes) Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico to learn about how to implement a teleconsultation program to improve access to care in rural and underserved areas.

This meeting provided the states an opportunity to learn from each other and other states with Medicaid Section 1115 Demonstration implementation experience, meet with expert consultants, and continue in-person negotiations around their transformation visions with senior Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) leadership and staff.
