NGA scholars have the opportunity to work in various divisions across the organization.

  • Economic Opportunity
  • Education
  • Environment, Energy & Transportation
  • Health, and Homeland Security & Public Safety.
  • Government Relations
  • Communications
  • Finance
  • Meeting Management
  • Human Resources

Our NGA Scholars program is unique with the work and meetings that our scholars participate in and our scholars are paid during the 11 weeks that they are here in Washington DC. The NGA Scholars program is based in Washington DC, just steps away from Capitol Hill. Scholars will be a part of a team that solves problems and works on behalf of governors across the country; they will be assigned impactful projects and achieve measured results.  There are also opportunities for scholars to experience DC through possible tours of the White House, Capitol, C-Span, Politico and other institutions around the district.
