Glenna Bevin

About

Glenna Bevin, first lady of Kentucky, grew up in Cherokee, Oklahoma. After graduating from Northern Oklahoma College with a nursing degree, she worked as a registered nurse in hospital settings and with hospice care.

Mrs. Bevin’s priorities include supporting children and families by advocating for child abuse prevention and facilitating the adoption process for Kentucky families. The first lady and Governor Bevin have endowed various scholarship funds that provide educational opportunities for low-income youth nationwide, and they have supported projects that benefit orphans in India and Africa. In 2012, they established the Bevin Center for Missions Mobilization in memory of their oldest daughter, Brittiney.

The Bevins were married in 1996, and have nine children.
