Note: Title II of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) contains detailed provisions on the design and implementation of Unemployment Insurance (UI) and other short-term unemployment compensation programs in response to COVID-19. For the purpose of this summary, these provisions are not included, with the exception of provisions related to the development of guidance in implementing these programs.
