Registration Information

The National Governors Association (NGA) welcomes you to the 2020 NGA Winter Meeting.  Registration and Business sessions will be located at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, Washington DC 20001.  Dress for the Winter Meeting is business attire.

Please complete the online registration form to attend the NGA Winter Meeting. Online registration ends at 12:00 p.m. (ET) Friday, January 31. After this date, attendees must register onsite.

All attendees must obtain and wear their meeting credential throughout the meeting. For compliance with security, two forms of identification are required to register. One must be a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. The other should identify the individual’s business affiliation. Personal credit cards are not a valid form of identification. Media must show a current press credential or business card.

NGA reserves the right to reject the registration application and revoke credentials of anyone whose behavior is disruptive to the meeting and associated events.

Payments and Refunds
NGA’s policy is that registration fees must be paid online by credit card during the registration process.

To cancel your meeting registration and receive a refund, you must submit your request in writing by 12:00 a.m. / midnight (ET) Wednesday, January 15. The request should be emailed to tsmith@nga.org. NGA issues refunds, minus a $100 processing fee. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the request.

Cancellation requests received after 12:00 a.m. / midnight (ET) Wednesday, January 15; are nonrefundable. Registrations completed after the refund cancellation date are not eligible for a refund. No-shows are billed for the applicable fee.

Hotel Information

It is recommended that meeting attendees register, request housing and make their travel plans as soon as possible. The National Governors Association (NGA) has reserved a block of sleeping rooms for meeting attendees at the Marriott Marquis, 901 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington DC, 20001.

Hotel Accommodations
The NGA room rate is $184 and current sales tax is 14.5%. Rates are based on single/double occupancy. For questions about accommodations, suite availability and rates, contact Tonya Smith tsmith@nga.org or 202 624-5389.

Attendees must book their rooms online through this website. If you do not book your hotel reservation via the NGA registration process, you will not receive the NGA meeting rate. NGA is unable to assist with room reservations made outside the NGA room block.

Important Dates
NGA will not guarantee housing as of Friday, January 17. If accommodations are available after this date, they may be at a rate higher than the NGA meeting rate. NGA meeting attendees may request rooms via the housing website until 12:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday, January 17; requests will be filled based on room availability. Changes to housing reservations must be submitted in writing via email to tsmith@nga.org by Wednesday, January 15. After this date, all requests for new reservations or changes and cancellations to existing reservations must be made by calling the hotel directly at 202-824-9200.

Hotel Cancellation Policy
All hotels require a credit card to confirm each hotel reservation request. If you need to cancel a hotel reservation, contact the hotel at least 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid paying a penalty.

NGA treats member and customer information confidentially, and we do not release event invitation and registration lists to third parties unless required by law or legal process.
