The Reimagining Workforce Policy in the Age of Disruption: A State Guide for Preparing the Future Workforce Now is the culminating product of the Future Workforce Now initiative. This resource provides leaders at the highest level of state government with a comprehensive guide to implementing policy and programmatic transformations to prepare the future workforce. The tools and resources are also intended to provide nongovernmental, industry, and institutional leaders with promising approaches to build a resilient education and workforce system. This site offers users a new way to engage with a comprehensive survey of innovative workforce strategies to carry out unique education and workforce goals.
The Future Workforce Now initiative was launched in 2018 to assist states in advancing policy to prepare for the workforce needs of the future. Through a series of topical roundtables, Future Workforce Now brought together national and international experts with state policy leaders to share knowledge and expertise on the disruptive the world of work, and to map a path forward for state success. The State Guide for Preparing the Future Workforce Now distills the insights from these convenings, including three transformations required to prepare the future workforce now.
The initiative is led by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) in partnership with, FHI360, and the Fab Foundation, with generous support from the Siegel Family Endowment, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Schmidt Futures.
