Ample opportunities exist to reduce energy consumption and expenditures in public buildings. The National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center), in partnership with the state of Pennsylvania, will host a retreat with state stakeholders and experts to explore new policies and solutions to improve the energy efficiency of state buildings and reduce energy costs.
The purpose of this retreat is to engage Pennsylvania stakeholders – including state agencies – to:
- Identify tools to benchmark facility energy consumption in a consistent, transparent, and automated manner.
- Explore strategies to develop cost-effective and practical energy-savings goals for state facilities.
- Develop a strategy to communicate the need for, and examples of, energy conservation in public buildings to state agencies and the public.
