Children and Families

Governors play a critical role in the protection and support of vulnerable children, families and individuals. Human service programs offer opportunities for low-income families to achieve self-sufficiency and provide for their own well-being. Governors continue to explore and implement new and innovative practices to serve the families, children and individuals in their states. The NGA Center for Best Practices provides information and technical assistance to governors and agency leadership to help them implement and improve policies and systems for those in need.
