The National Governors Association (NGA) welcomes you to the 2019 NGA Summer Meeting. Registration and business sessions will be located at The Grand America, 555 S Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. Dress for the Summer Meeting is business casual.

General Registration Information

Advance registration for the NGA 2019 Summer Meeting closed at 5:00 p.m. (ET) on Monday, July 15.  Please note onsite registration is restricted to NGA members (state employees, corporate partners and sponsors, credentialed members of the press and federal employees).

All attendees must obtain and wear their meeting credential throughout the meeting. For compliance with security, two forms of identification are required to pick up credentials. One must be a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. The other should identify the individual’s business affiliation.

Personal credit cards are not a valid form of identification.

Media must show a current press credential or business card.

NGA reserves the right to reject the registration application and revoke credentials of anyone whose behavior is disruptive to the meeting and associated events.

Payments and Refunds

NGA’s policy is that registration fees must be paid online by credit card during the registration process.

To cancel your meeting registration and receive a refund, you must submit your request in writing by 12:00 a.m. / midnight (ET) Wednesday, June 26. The request should be emailed to tsmith@nga.org. NGA issues refunds, minus a $100 processing fee. Refunds will be issued within 30 days of the request.

Cancellation requests received after 12:00 a.m. / midnight (ET) Wednesday; June 26 are nonrefundable. Registrations completed after the refund cancellation date are not eligible for a refund. No-shows are billed for the applicable fee.

Hotel Information

It is recommended that meeting attendees register, request housing and make their travel plans as soon as possible. The National Governors Association (NGA) has reserved a block of sleeping rooms for meeting attendees at The Grand America Hotel, 555 S Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111.

Hotel Accommodations

The NGA room rate is $269 plus current sales tax of 13.82%. Rates are based on single/double occupancy.  For questions about accommodations, suite availability and rates, contact Tonya Smith at tsmith@nga.org or 202-624-5389.

Attendees must book their rooms online through this website. If you do not book your hotel reservation via the NGA registration process, you will not receive the NGA meeting rate. NGA is unable to assist with room reservations made outside the NGA room block.

Important Dates

NGA will not guarantee housing as of Friday, July 5. If accommodations are available after this date, they may be at a rate higher than the NGA meeting rate. NGA meeting attendees may request rooms via the housing website until 12:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday, July 5; requests will be filled based on room availability.

Changes to housing reservations must be submitted in writing via email to tsmith@nga.org by Friday, July 5. After this date, all requests for new reservations or changes and cancellations to existing reservations must be made by calling the hotel directly at 801-258-6000.

Hotel Cancellation Policy
All hotels require a credit card to confirm each hotel reservation request. If you need to cancel a hotel reservation, contact the hotel at least 24 hours prior to arrival to avoid paying a penalty.

By registering for this event, the registrant consents to allow NGA to use personally identifiable information (“PII”) collected for official purposes associated with this event only.  NGA uses information collected to make hotel reservations, process charges to credit cards and facilitate security for the meeting.  NGA undertakes reasonable efforts to ensure that all PII collected on or through our websites remains secure, including one or more technologies and processes such as encryption, access control procedures, firewalls, physical security and other measures.  NGA treats member and customer information confidentially, and we do not release event invitation and registration lists to third parties unless required by law or legal process.  Of course, no website security measures are infallible, and no website is impervious to unauthorized or malicious intrusion.

Media Waiver Language

I give this acknowledgment freely and knowingly and that I am, as a result, able to participate in the meeting and I do hereby assume responsibility for my own well-being. I also agree not to allow any other individual to participate in my place unless authorized by NGA and I understand that credentials are non-transferrable. This acknowledgment includes my guest(s) to include accompanying minors participation (if applicable) in all associated events.

By registering I agree to indemnify and hold harmless NGA and its governing bodies, officers and employees from all loss, damage or liability arising out of or related to my attendance and/or participation at this program/event.

Photos, videos, and audio taken may be used, without compensation, in future marketing, publicity, promotions, advertising and training activities for NGA. I agree to allow NGA to use my image, which may appear in the photographs, video and audio presentations, in all media formats worldwide. Please note, NGA events are held in a public space and, therefore we do not prohibit participants, exhibitors, sponsors, or news organizations from photographing, videotaping or recording audio. In addition, I agree to hold NGA harmless in the event that photos, video and audio are used that include my likeness on social media and/or future marketing materials.  I further waive any right to inspect or approve the finished photograph, motion picture, videotape, advertising copy, or printed matter that may be used in conjunction therewith or to the eventual use that it might be applied.
