Abigail Smith Judstra

Legislative Associate

Abigail Smith Judstra serves as the Legislative Associate for the Public Health and Disaster Response Task Force within the Government Relations department at the National Governors Association. In this role, Abigail supports Governors and states by engaging on federal priorities including healthcare and human services, nutrition, cybersecurity, disaster response, and more.

Prior to joining NGA, Abigail was a surgical/medical nurse for three years in both pediatrics and adults. After working through the pandemic, Abigail hoped to make more of an impact in her patients’ lives. She is excited to pursue a career in health policy and is currently obtaining a Master of Public Health in Health Policy from George Washington University.

In her spare time, Abigail is the President and Founder of City Girls Who Walk DC, a women’s social organization in the DMV with the goal of improving physical and mental wellness through walking, community engagement, and advocacy.
