Senior Policy Analyst

With a bachelor’s in biology from Howard University and a master’s in public health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Asia Riviere, a Charleston, South Carolina native, is a public health practitioner deeply committed to fostering system-change through policy. Before arriving at the National Governors Association (NGA), Asia worked as a Health Care Evaluation Research Associate at the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago.

Currently, Asia serves as a Senior Policy Analyst for the Health Topic Area in the NGA Center for Best Practices where she supports Rural Health, Maternal and Child Health, Chronic Disease, Emergency Preparedness, and Medicaid portfolios. At NGA Asia, leads key Center initiatives, including managing NGA’s Infectious Disease and Outbreak Response work and Partnership with Johns Hopkins Center for Outbreak Response, leading NGA’s Rural and Maternal and Child Health projects with HRSA, supporting NGA’s Medicaid portfolio, planning and facilitating state advisors’ roundtables, webinars, and summits on bipartisan health policy issues.
