National Governors Association Appoints New Leaders of Government Affairs and Communications Teams

Susie Perez Quinn to Lead Government Affairs, Eric Wohlschlegel to Lead Communications

The National Governors Association (NGA) has named Susie Perez Quinn as director of government affairs, and Eric Wohlschlegel as director of communications to help the NGA bring bipartisan solutions to the most pressing public policy issues faced by states and at the national level. Both join the NGA as members of its executive leadership team and report to Executive Director Bill McBride.

“Susie and Eric are two of the most respected professionals in their fields with great relationships around the country on both sides of the aisle,” said McBride. “They will help strengthen NGA’s advocacy on behalf of our nation’s governors with Congress, national and state leaders, and the media.”

Perez Quinn served as the top advisor to Senator Bill Nelson of Florida and spent nearly two decades on Capitol Hill. During that time, she was an effective leader in finding bipartisan solutions on a wide range of domestic policy issues including infrastructure, healthcare, energy, the environment, and disaster response for the nation’s third-largest state.

Wohlschlegel, a native of Portland, Oregon, has spent more than 20 years in Washington developing and implementing strategic communications at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, American Petroleum Institute, and the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
