WASHINGTON—The National Governors Association (NGA) today announced its new executive committee leadership for 2017-2018.
On Saturday, July 15, 2017, Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval was named NGA chair and Montana Gov. Steve Bullock vice chair. Together they will lead the nine-member Executive Committee that guides the association’s priorities and activities. Other members of the committee include:
- Gov. Dan Malloy, Connecticut;
- Gov. Kim Reynolds, Iowa;
- Gov. Larry Hogan, Maryland;
- Gov. Rick Snyder, Michigan;
- Gov. Roy Cooper, North Carolina;
- Gov. Tom Wolf, Pennsylvania; and
- Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Virginia.
NGA provides a bipartisan forum for governors to exchange views and share best practices, identify priority issues and works with governors to establish bipartisan positions to influence key federal policies and develop innovative solutions to state policy challenges and provides tailored technical assistance to governors.
Appointments to the NGA Committees on Health and Human Services, Economic Development and Commerce, Education and Workforce, Homeland Security and Public Safety and Natural Resources will be announced at a later date.
