WASHINGTON— The National Governors Association (NGA) released the following statement on the House’s passage of a water infrastructure bill:
“The nation’s governors applaud yesterday’s House action towards a biennial, bipartisan reauthorization of the 2018 Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) and urge the Senate to take up its own version soon. Responsible stewardship of our water infrastructure resources is vital to the safety, environmental protection, and economic development of our state and local economies. States recognize the value of investing in our nation’s infrastructure and have long advocated for certainty and stability to meet our water infrastructure needs. Governors encourage Congress to build on past bipartisan efforts regarding water infrastructure and work together to pass a 2018 WRDA reauthorization.”
