Rx Knowledge Exchange Network

The NGA Center for Best Practices Health Team (NGA Health), with support from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), launched the Rx for a Healthier America Initiative in June 2025 to support Governors’ efforts to reduce the occurrence of chronic disease through four main areas: lifestyle factors, nutrition, environmental exposures, and access to quality healthcare.

Project teams from American Samoa, Maryland, Missouri, the US Virgin Islands, and West Virginia are engaging in strategic planning through action planning sessions, a knowledge exchange network, and real-time technical assistance.

This work also extends to a broader network of participating states and territories through the knowledge exchange network, where states and territories interested in chronic disease policy can share best practices, strategies, and innovations related to chronic disease through peer-to-peer learning.

This toolkit serves as an additional resource for the Project teams and broader knowledge exchange network, providing access to materials such as past webinar slides and recordings, anonymized technical assistance memos, and relevant commentaries.
