NGA 2026 Summer Meeting

The National Governors Association will host its 2026 Summer Meeting in Oklahoma City, July 30–Aug. 1, bringing together governors, first spouses, and staff with leaders from across the public and private sectors to discuss critical issues facing states and territories.

Join us for a series of panels and discussions on bipartisanship and restoring dignity in politics; the future of work and growing our economy; and service.

The meeting will also celebrate the culmination of Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt’s Reigniting the American Dream Chair’s Initiative and will mark the formal transition of NGA leadership, as Gov. Stitt passes the gavel to Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, who will serve as NGA chair for 2026–27.

Opening Ceremonies and Common Ground Town Hall

As part of the NBC News Common Ground series, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin StittMaryland Gov. Wes Moore and governors from both sides of the aisle will sit down with NBC News’ Kristen Welker to talk through the issues that matter most to Americans: affordability, education, energy, healthcare, restoring dignity to politics – and more

AI and the Future of Work

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Utah Gov. Spencer Cox will join former U.S. Secretary of Commerce and Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo and former Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb to discuss a new project from RaiseUS to make sure states are AI-ready.

Building the Dream: First Spouses on Access, Opportunity, and Hope

Anita McBride, former White House advisor and chief of staff to First Lady Laura Bush, will moderate a first-of-its-kind panel bringing together first spouses from both sides of the aisle. Maryland First Lady Dawn Moore, Oklahoma First Lady Sarah Stitt, North Carolina First Lady Anna Stein and Utah First Lady Abby Cox will discuss their lives as first spouses and highlight how their initiatives and their unique roles are reigniting the American dream.

A panel of outgoing governors will reflect on their administration and their time in public service.
