January 9-12, 2018 | Henderson, NV
The world is changing rapidly, with new innovative technologies spurring what some have declared the “fourth industrial revolution” that is leading to amazing new opportunities and new types of challenges. Given the implications for their citizens and economy, governors are looking for ways to promote opportunities and tackle challenges to stay ahead of the curve. The National Governors Association (NGA Center) hosted a summit focused on proactive measures, partnerships and policies to help them be an innovation governor. Those topics are the focus of Governor Sandoval’s 2017-2018 NGA Chair’s Initiative, Ahead of the Curve: Innovation Governors.
The summit focused on transportation sector transformations, including electric and autonomous vehicles, drones and ridesharing. The summit included joint activities with CES2018, the annual showcase of consumer technology innovations, including policy presentations and visits to the exhibition floor.
