Governors Learn to Code at Summer Meeting

During the 2016 National Governors Association Summer Meeting in Des Moines, governors joined students at Code.org’s first-ever “Hour of Code” event, where they learned about coding from students of all ages who have benefited from access to rigorous—but also fun—computer science education courses. Many governors have made computer science a priority in schools, and Summer Meeting Host Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad celebrated the chance to connect more students with high-quality computer science education.
