WASHINGTON—The National Governors Association today released a statement following yesterday’s shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, which killed 17 people and left more than a dozen injured:
“America’s governors are heartbroken by the news of what is now one of the deadliest school shootings in our country’s history.
We mourn the lives of the students, teachers and faculty who were lost.
Today we stand with all Floridians as we send our deepest condolences to them and the community marred by this horrific tragedy and act of evil.”
