Policy Analyst, K-12 Education

Jillian Meinhardt serves as the Policy Analyst for the K-12 Education Team at the National Governors Association’s Center for Best Practices. In this role, she currently supports student and staff well-being, academic supports and educator recruitment and retention. Prior to joining NGA, Jillian served as the Clinical Team Leader for the Therapeutic Community Lower and Middle Schools at Sheppard Pratt School. Jillian supported students through in-school counseling and collaborated with parents, administration and outside providers to best help her students. Along with supervising staff, she advocated for student and staff well-being. Jillian implemented system-wide policies surrounding suicide prevention and awareness and was an active member of the school threat assessment team. Jillian is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and earned her Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University. Jillian is a licensed clinical social worker and an active practitioner for children, young adults and families in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
