A former Cybersecurity Policy Fellow at the Aspen Institute, Steve Fugelsang is an alumnus of Tufts University’s Master of Science program in Cybersecurity and Public Policy, offered jointly by the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the Department of Computer Science. Steve was previously an attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice (National Security Division), a legislative fellow in the U.S. Senate, an assistant general counsel on a presidential campaign, and an active-duty officer in the U.S. Army.

In the Army, Steve served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG Corps) and was assigned to the 10th Mountain Division. He handled felony cases as a military prosecutor before deploying as a rule of law adviser to eastern Afghanistan, where he continually circulated throughout a five-province area of responsibility in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

A native New Yorker, Steve graduated from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University with a concentration in National Security Law and Policy. He received his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
