2024 Core Advisory Board

The National Governors Association announced its new Children and Families Core Advisory Board (CAB) for 2024. Each year, a small group of governors’ human services policy advisors and agency leaders are selected to provide critical input and feedback on the structure and content of the NGA Center’s work with the states on human services and early childhood education and care issues. The CAB will convene to supply NGA with up-to-date perspectives on governors’ priorities, providing input on the content and materials offered by the Children and Families team.

About the Care Advisory Board

The National Governors Association (NGA) Children and Families team established the Core Advisory Board (CAB) to support a forum for an exclusive group of the organization’s member states to provide consistent and representative feedback, help steer program implementation and focus areas, and ensure that the Children and Families team is best serving the needs of Governors’ offices across the nation. The CAB comprises 14 advisors from Governors’ offices, selected annually by the Children and Families team based on participation and engagement over the previous year, with considerations toward ensuring a diversity of socio-geographic factors and political thought. Additionally, representatives from select national partner organizations also operate in consultative function for the CAB to share relevant updates, priorities, and feedback from their respective organizations.
