Energy, Infrastructure & Environment

We are excited to announce that the Environment, Energy & Transportation division is now the Energy, Infrastructure & Environment (EIE) division.  We made the change to better reflect an expanding portfolio that covers a variety of infrastructure assets, including not only transportation but also water, communications and other public works.  Please see this site for more on our continued work on infrastructure, and, along with the infrastructure work of NGA Advocacy, our new infrastructure site here

About EIE

The NGA Solutions: Center for Best Practices’ Energy, Infrastructure & Environment (EIE) provides information, research, policy analysis, technical assistance and resource development for governors and their staff in the areas of energy, environment and infrastructure including transportation, water and broadband. The division focuses on several issues, including: developing a modern, efficient, reliable and resilient electricity grid; exploring state transportation solutions involving new technologies such as autonomous vehicles, drones, ride-hailing and electrification; ensuring energy security; managing the use of water resources including addressing the water-energy nexus; exploring innovative financing mechanisms for energy and other infrastructure, and supporting smarter state solutions involving connected technologies and developing cross-cutting resiliency strategies.
