Ability to Benefit Action Lab

Tuesday, December 14th from 1-4 p.m. EST

NGA, in partnership with Education Strategy Group will host a virtual Action Lab focused on leveraging Ability to Benefit (ATB) to expand access to postsecondary education. ATB can help students without a high school diploma or equivalency qualify for federal financial aid for postsecondary career pathways programs. Register here by Monday, December 6th.

This Action Lab will focus on leveraging Ability to Benefit to expand access to postsecondary education. ATB can help students without a high school diploma or equivalency qualify for federal financial aid for postsecondary career pathways programs.

Sessions will include:

  1. An overview of ATB as a lever for recovery including why it is an important policy, how it works, and how to effectively implement it,
  2. Examples from states and institutions with plans for ATB that will highlight challenges, lessons learned, and opportunities to further scale, and
  3. A discussion with experts on decision points and priorities for moving forward.
